HOW TO AVOID YELLOW STAINED SHIRTS

A minute read

Who does not love a nice white t-shirt?  Depending on which brand you purchase, t-shirts can be expensive, and washing them incorrectly or using the wrong deodorant or antiperspirant will ruin them.  What most commonly ruins a great white t-shirt is a yellow armpit stain.  You know, that strange faint yellow discoloration on your nice white or ivory-colored tee.  Once one of those stains appears, you try to wash it out with no success, and your favorite white tee is ruined.  How do you avoid yellow stains?  It is all in what you put under your arms.  Let’s break it down.

Take a moment and look at your deodorant or antiperspirant.  Does it contain aluminum (Aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly)?  Say that five times fast.  If so, this is what causes yellow stains to appear on your shirt.  Companies use aluminum because it blocks the glands that cause you to sweat, which, when it comes in contact with your skin and sweat, lands on your shirt, and it is all over.  There may be an antiperspirant that doesn’t have one.  I just haven’t found one yet.  With that said, I suggest you switch to using deodorant.  A fair amount of deodorants don’t have this chemical, and you can avoid this problem altogether.  There are a lot of natural ingredients that will suit your needs.  Charcoal is an example, yet not required in deodorant.  You should choose one that has a fresh scent or is unscented, so it doesn’t clash with your cologne.
